Get your NYC energy grade label in 5 minutes

Buildings on the City's LL84 benchmarking list must post their 2026 energy grade label at each public entrance by October 31, 2026. The label is free on the City's DOB NOW site. Type your address and we'll show your block and lot and the exact steps.

The 5 steps

  1. Open the City's DOB NOW Public Portal (no login needed) and choose Building Energy Efficiency Rating Label (under Additional Tools).
  2. Pick your borough and type your block and lot, without leading zeros. Click Search.
  3. Click the print icon next to your building.
  4. Choose Owner or Owner's Representative, fill in your name, address and email, tick the e-signature box and press Submit. The label opens to download.
  5. Print it on letter paper (color recommended) and post it near each public entrance, 4 to 6 feet from the floor, by October 31, 2026. Keep it up all year.

Tip: take a dated photo of the posted label and keep it. Not posting can bring a $1,250 DOB violation (DOB's LL33 page). Buildings graded "N" do not have to post. Only the label printed from DOB NOW counts.
