Privacy Policy
Effective October 14, 2026 (updated the same day: newsletter, client portal, annual plan)
This policy explains what information NYC Benchmark Filing collects and how we use it. Questions or requests: office@nycbenchmarkfiling.com.
What we collect
- Order details you type on our website: building address or BBL, violation number, your name, email, role and notes.
- Building information you send us to do the work, such as utility bills, account numbers, floor area and Portfolio Manager or BEAM access.
- Emails you send us, and your email address if you subscribe to our monthly newsletter or ask us to email you a building report.
- Basic technical data when you use the website, such as your browser type and approximate country, used to run the site and prevent abuse.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email and payment status. We never see or store your full card number.
How we use it
- To prepare, correct and submit your building's benchmarking report.
- To email you about your order, invoice and filing.
- To keep business and tax records.
- To send our monthly NYC Building Compliance Update, only if you subscribed (you can unsubscribe with one click in any issue or in the client portal).
- For annual plan customers: to remind you before each renewal and before each yearly deadline.
The building lookup on our website searches public NYC Open Data records. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only what is needed to do the work and run the business: the City of New York, ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and your utilities, such as Con Edison, National Grid and NYC DEP (to set up and file your report), and the service providers we use for website hosting, email and payments. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies
Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If you sign in to the client portal, we set one cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. Signing out deletes it.
How long we keep it
We keep order and filing records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet tax and record-keeping requirements. You can ask us to delete your information at any time; we will delete what we are not required to keep.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing office@nycbenchmarkfiling.com.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above.
